Leftists in our goverment and on the street continue their unrelenting drive to inject a persistent, deadly strain of national autophobia into the minds of the American public, especially the young and very young, and into the twenty-first century zeitgeist of our great country. It's not working. My unscientific observations, not to be confused with scientific observations of the type made by the esteemed climatologists at the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit, reveal that the overwhelming majority of Americans love their country just the way it is. They loathe the apology tours, their president bowing, the disrespectful and aloof treatment of our allies, the embracing of our enemies and the extending to them the rights of American citizens, the wimpification of America, the looming forced dependence on government; the smug, elitist, we-know-better duly-elected driving us down an un-American path propelled by the power of passive-totalitarianism, the overt corruption, community organizers and czars; a Russian title befitting the appointed but one that Americans find repulsive for use in our governmental lexicon.
I'm one of the Americans who loves the United States just the way it is. I won't even throw in the requisite semi-apology that we've made mistakes and that we aren't perfect. Who cares? Who doesn't and who is? The United States is exponentially greater in every imaginable way than any other country that has ever existed. She doesn't need defending. Her unmatched historical greatness and generosity speak for her. That American greatness and generosity will long into the future endure regardless the efforts of enemies within and without to discredit and curtail.
So, again, who cares? Give it up, leftists.
President Obama's body dysmorphic disorder view of the country he was elected to lead is a disgraceful embarrassment to all of us. Even to those who share his maladay. We'll leave for another time the part about it being dangerous to the republic. His disorder was never hidden. Every time he spoke on the campaign trail he presented with a full-blown case. I heard it and saw it, as did many others. I told people. I told my wife so often that I drove her crazy. When she shrugged off my concerns by noting all politicians are dangerous, I told her that Obama wasn't just a dangerous politician, he was a bad person, a dangerous man, period. I confidently told her, though, that she need not worry about him being elected because real Americans would never vote for him and that people would come out of the woodwork to vote against him, not so much to vote for John McCain, but to vote against Obama. I believed people were listening and that the in-the-satchel for Obama media were fudging the numbers in his favor.
I was wrong. Too few were listening to what he was actually saying when he wasn't saying "change." He told us over and over that he hated America. He told us over and over that he was a socialist with a socialist agenda. I swear to God. He did. The truth is, were Obama not half African-American the vision he espoused in speech after speech would have been heard and rejected by the citizenry before he ever got out of the gate. Had he been cursed with one-hundred percent caucasian heritage, his formative upbringing in Islamic Indonesia at the knees of his leftist mother, Ann, and father-figure, Frank Marshall Davis, an avowed communist; his associations with terrorist friends Bill Ayres and Bernardine Dohrn; his adult view of America, long influenced by America-hating Reverend Jeremiah Wright; and his shady dealings with the felon, Tony Rezko, would have been career killers. Were he Sean Kennedy, an Irish-American with only the right name, rather than Barack Obama, African-American, his beliefs and associations would have kept him from getting elected to any office, let alone the highest office in the land. If he were a white man or woman his own party would have taken one look at his socialist agenda, his upbringing and his life's associations and rejected him. Hillary Clinton would have been the Democrat nominee and, probably, the President of the United States. Believe it or not, that would have been an improvement. I think. She'd have to be. She's a liberal, but at least she loves America. I think.
Call me rascist.
Obama bowed to foreign leaders. One, Hu Jintao, the communist dictator who rules with an iron-fist over 1.3 billion subserviants in the Peoples' Republic of China. Another, King Abdullah, reigns over our mid-east ally, Saudi Arabia, the Muslim nation that spawned fifteen of the September 11 hijackers and that funds Islamic schools throughout the world, including, incredibly, in the United States, that teach hate and the goal of Islamic global dominance enforced by sharia law. A third bowee was Emperor Akihito of Japan. Akihito represents the country that bombed Pearl Harbor sixty-seven years ago and that subjected American servicemen to, among other atrocities, the Bataan Death March in 1942. Coincidentally, the courageous Muslim savages we are currently at war with and the Japanese soldiers of World War II share an affinity for slit throats and beheadings as a method of killing the unarmed and restrained, as well as an ability to recruit, brainwash and dispatch suicide bombers. One for the glory of the emperor, the other for the glory of Allah.
Give them a bow.
At the 2008 Thanksgiving table I promised those who voted for Obama that I would not say "I told you so" at the 2009 table. That promise will be kept. How many times the words "you told me so" are heard remains to be seen. I do know that the "America is Bad" campaign is failing. Americans love their country and no amount of leftist propaganda will change that. Before Obama's presidency, the propaganda was annoying but harmless coming from a light-weight, empty-suit candidate. Now that he occupies the oval office, it's infuriating. Come the 2010 congressional elections and the 2012 presidential election, love of country will be on display from sea to shining sea.
For that, let us give thanks.
